About Nigist Alemnigus Girmay: Nigist is a sweet, friendly, and obedient girl who is now thriving at Hanna Orphan’s Home. She was referred by the Office of Women and Children’s Affairs after her family could no longer provide proper care. Nigist’s parents divorced when she was just four years old, and both are HIV positive. Her father’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and her family is uncertain if he is still alive. Her mother, who also suffers from asthma and severe headaches, lives with Nigist’s brothers and uncle, but they were unable to meet her needs. At Hanna Orphan’s Home, Nigist is happy to attend school, participate in home activities, and enjoy the love and stability she needs to grow and thrive.
